Explanation of Experiences of Iranian Women on the Verge of Divorce Regarding Rationality

Background: Rationality is a complex concept that plays vital role in human choices and decisions. However, this issue has been less addressed studies on marital life. Objectives: This study was performed to explain the experiences of Iranian women verge divorce regarding rationality. Methods: According five-stage Granheim Landman’s approach, an inductive conventional qualitative content analysis used collect analyze women’s divorce. Seventeen selected through purposive sampling entered study, information collected using unstructured semi-structured interviews. Information collection proceeded simultaneously. The saturated with 17 participants, no new extracted. In Lincoln Guba’s criteria were ensure robustness study. Results: After analysis, two main themes derived. Limited rationality marriage first one three categories: Lack intellectual preparedness for life, irrational decision-making, unrealistic positive thinking. issues understanding second one, categorized into reality shock negative cognitive-emotional experiences. Conclusions: showed limited lives learning skills, such as deep thinking realistic thinking, can help overcome limitations toward lack understanding.
